Saving Egypt’s Oldest Pyramid is a documentary that chronicles the restoration of Egypt’s Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s oldest pyramid.
Looters, earthquakes and erosion had all taken their toll on the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, and this ancient building was in danger of literally falling in on itself. This dramatic show follows the experts as they race to save this precious pyramid.
I crafted an original score that layered traditional Egyptian elements with a modern hybrid orchestral sound, reflecting the monument's historical significance while giving the epic, cinematic action-adventure feel that parts of this story called for.
The music underscores the documentary's exploration of the pyramid's architectural marvels and the meticulous restoration process, enhancing the narrative of preserving a cornerstone of Egypt's cultural heritage.
